ඉසයිප්‍රියාව මරා දමන අය විසින්ම ඒ මොහොත ඡායාරූපයට ගන්නවා. ඒවයේ ඝාතකයන්ගෙ මුහුණු පැහැදිළිව පේනවා. ඒත් අවුරුදු දහතුනකට පස්සෙත් ඉසෛප්‍රියාගෙ ඝාතකයො නිදැල්ලෙ ඉන්නවා. වැරදිකාරයො නැති මරණයක මුද්‍රාව ඉසෛප්‍රියාගෙ නම ඉස්සරහ තියෙනවා.

2009 ශ්‍රී ලංකා සිවිල් යුද්ධයේදී මානව හිමිකම් උල්ලංඝනය කිරීම් සහ යුද අපරාධ පිළිබඳ එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ මානව හිමිකම් කවුන්සිලයේ වාර්තාව ඉසයිප්‍රියා පණපිටින් අල්ලා පසුව වෙඩි තබා මරා දැමූ බව නිගමනය කර තිබේ.

එම වාර්තාව මෙසේ කියයි.

“ප්‍රසිද්ධ එල්ටීටීඊ ප්‍රවෘත්ති නිවේදිකාවක් වන ඉසයිප්‍රියා, ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආරක්ෂක අංශ විසින් ඇයව අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඝාතනය කර ඇති බව අඟවන ඡායාරූප සහ වීඩියෝ රූප කිහිපයක පෙනී සිටියි. සාක්ෂිකරුවන් ඇයව මැයි 18 ට පෙර සතියේ අවස්ථා කිහිපයකදී දුටු අතර අවසන් වරට දුටුවේය. මැයි 18 වැනි දින අලුයම ඇය ජීවතුන් අතර සිටි අතර, ශ්‍රී ලංකා යුද හමුදාවේ සෙබළුන් ඇයව තනිව නිරායුධව කලපුවෙන් පිටතට ඇදගෙන ගොස් වඩ්ඩුවාකල් පාලමට උතුරින් නන්දි කඩල් කලපු වෙරළේ මඩ සහිත ප්‍රදේශයක දී ඇයව අත්අඩංගුවට ගත්හ. 

OISL විසින් ඉසයිප්‍රියා නන්දි කඩල් කලපුවෙන් පණපිටින් ඇද ගන්නා ලද නමුත් ප්‍රභාකරන්ගේ දියණිය ලෙස ආරක්ෂක අංශ විසින් වරදවා වටහාගෙන ඇති බව පෙන්වන සාක්ෂි ගිණුම් වලට අනුකූලව ඡායාරූප සහ වීඩියෝ දර්ශන නරඹා ඇත. වීඩියෝ අනුපිළිවෙලෙහි ඉසයිප්‍රියා කාකි / කොළ පැහැති කලිසමක් සහ මස් පාට බ්‍රා එකකින් සැරසී සිටී. මෙම දර්ශනවල සිටින සොල්දාදුවන් ඇයගේ උඩුකය වැසීමට සුදු රෙද්දක් ඇයට දෙන අතර සාමාන්‍යයෙන් ගෞරවනීය ලෙස හැසිරේ. වෙනත් ඡායාරූප රූපවල, ඉසයිප්‍රියා වෙනත් තරුණියක් අසල වාඩි වී හෝ වැතිර සිටින සුදු රෙද්ද වටේ ඔතාගෙන සිටිනු දක්නට ලැබේ. මෙම රූපවලට හාත්පසින්ම වෙනස්ව, තවත් වීඩියෝවක මෙන්ම ඡායාරූප ගණනාවකින් පිරිමි සිරුරු සමූහයක් අතර ඉසයිප්‍රියාගේ මළ සිරුර පෙන්නුම් කරයි, බොහෝ නිරුවත්, දෑත් පිටුපසට බැඳ ඇති. මෙම වීඩියෝවේ, ඉසයිප්‍රියා අඩ නිරුවතින් කලිසම පහළට ඇදී ඇගේ ඉහළ කලවා ප්‍රදේශය, ලිංගික ප්‍රදේශය සහ යටි බඩ ප්‍රදේශය නිරාවරණය කර ඇත. ඇගේ මැදපෙළ දැන් ලේ වැගිරෙන සුදු රෙද්දෙන් වැසී ඇති අතර ඇගේ බ්‍රා එක හිතාමතාම ඇගේ පියයුරු නිරාවරණය කිරීමට ගෙන ගොස් ඇති බව පෙනේ. ඇගේ දෑත් පිටුපසට බැඳ ඇති බව පෙනේ. වෙනත් වින්දිතයන් පැළඳ සිටින ඇස් බැන්දුමට සමාන රෙද්දක් ඇගේ මුළු මුහුණම නිරාවරණය වන පරිදි ඉවතට ඇද දමා ඇති බව පෙනේ.

ඡායාරූප සහ වීඩියෝ දර්ශනවල ස්වාධීන අධිකරණ වෛද්ය පරීක්ෂණයෙන් පෙනී යන්නේ ඉසයිප්රියාගේ හිසට වෙඩි තබා ඇති බවයි . රූපවල ඇගේ සිරුර ස්ථානගත කර ඇත්තේ ඇයගේ වම් පැත්තේ තාවකාලික ප්‍රදේශයේ පිටවීමේ තුවාලය පමණක් පෙනෙන පරිදිය. හිස් කබල කැබලි සහ ඉදිරියට නෙරා ඇති මොළය පෙනේ. සාක්ෂිකරුවන්ගේ සාක්ෂි සහිත වීඩියෝ දර්ශන සහ ඡායාරූප මත පදනම්ව, ආරක්ෂක අංශ ඉසයිප්‍රියා පණපිටින් අල්ලාගෙන හිසට වෙඩි තබා ඝාතනය කළ බවට විශ්වාස කිරීමට OISL සාධාරණ හේතු තිබේ . තවද, ඉසයිප්‍රියාගේ මළ සිරුරේ සහ තවත් බොහෝ කාන්තාවන්ගේ රූප මත පදනම්ව, OISL විශ්වාස කරන්නේ ඉසයිප්‍රියාගේ මළ සිරුර අපවිත්‍ර කර ඇති බවයි.

Isaipriya

Shoba also known as Shobana Dharmaraja[6] (commonly known as Isaipriya or Isaippiriya; 1982–2009) was a Sri Lankan Tamil journalist and television broadcaster for the rebel Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. She died in the final days of the Sri Lankan Civil War in 2009 with video evidence that she was captured by the Sri Lankan military before being raped, tortured and murdered.[7] A senior United Nations official deemed the footage to be authentic. Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch also verified that it was her.[8]

A biopic about her, Porkalathil Oru Poo was banned in India as it would harm friendly relations with Sri Lanka.[9]

Early life and family[edit]

Shoba was born in 1982 and hailed from Delft Island.[10][11] She was educated at the Memorial School and Vembadi Girls’ High School.[10][11] Her family moved to the Vanni in 1995 after being displaced from their home by Operation Riviresa – the Sri Lankan military‘s operation aimed at recapturing the Jaffna Peninsula.[11] Shoba continued her education in Vanni before joining the rebel Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.[10]

Shoba married a LTTE cadre in 2007 and had an infant daughter.[11] Her daughter Akal was killed by Sri Lanka Air Force bombing on 15 March 2009.[10][12] Her husband was also killed in the final months of the civil war in 2009.

Career[edit]

According to the TamilNet website and Shoba’s friends she suffered from rheumatic valvular heart disease and as such didn’t provide any military service for the LTTE.[12][13] Instead Shoba worked, under the stage name Isaipriya, as journalist and broadcaster for the LTTE’s Oliveechchu television station in Kilinochchi.[10][11] She was also an actress, singer and dancer.[14]

Death[edit]

According to the Sri Lankan military, Isaipriya, whom it describes as “Lieutenant Colonel Issei Piriya”, was killed in battle by the 53 Division on 18 May 2009.[15][16][17] However, according to TamilNet, Isaipriya had been a volunteer at the makeshift hospital in Mullivaikkal until 8 May 2009 and had ended up at the internment camps in Vavuniya District.[12][18] TamilNet claims that Isaipriya and another woman were taken away from the camps by the Sri Lankan Army on 23/24 May 2009.[12]

On 30 November 2010 Channel 4 News broadcast video footage which allegedly showed Sri Lankan soldiers summarily executing captured Tamils in the final phase of the civil war.[19] The video showed a number of dead bodies including a naked woman with her hands behind her back.[20] This woman was later identified as Isaipriya by several sources.[10][13][20][3] An off-camera Sinhala voice is heard in the same video saying “I would like to fuck it again” in the segment showing the dead naked bodies of Isaipriya and Ushalini Gunalingam.[21]

A witness found by Human Rights Watch claims to have seen Isaipriya 15 May 2009 wearing the same clothes that were next to her in the Channel 4 News video.[20] There were signs that she may have been sexually assaulted.[22]

On 31 October 2013, Channel 4 News broadcast new video footage which showed Isaipriya alive and in the custody of the Sri Lankan military.[14] She is shown half naked and disorientated, and the Sri Lankan soldiers initially believe her to be Dwaraka, daughter of the LTTE leader V. Prabhakaran.[14][23] Photographs are also shown of Isaipriya lying in a ditch, possibly dead, with a gash across her face and clear signs of sexual assault.[14][24] According to lawyers Isaipriya’s “murder” by the Sri Lankan military constitutes a war crime.[14]

Isaipriya’s family were unaware of her capture and murder until the Channel 4 News broadcast.[25] Her mother told Channel 4 News that she had always thought that Isaipriya had been killed by shelling.[26][27] Her mother and sisters sought political asylum in UK.[28]
